የኢፌዲሪ የትምህርት ሚኒስትር እና የዩኔስኮ ብሄራዊ ኮሚሽን ፕሬዝዳንት ፕሮፌሰር ብርሃኑ ነጋ ከዩኔስኮ አጠቃላይ ኮንፈረንስ ጎን ለጎን ከአለም አቀፍ የትምህርት ቢሮ (UNESCO-IBE) ቦርድ ፕሬዝዳንት ስቪን ኦስትቬት ጋር በፈረንሳይ በሚገኘው የዩኔስኮ ዋና መስሪያቤት የጎንዮሽ ውይይት አካሂደዋል።

በውይይታቸውም ሚኒስትሩ የኢትዮጵያን የትምህርት ሥርዓት ለማሻሻል እና ለማዘመን ያከናወናቸውንና በመተግበር ላይ ያሉ የለውጥ ተግባራትን አቅርበዋል።

ፕሮፌሰር ብርሃኑ ኢትዮጵያ በተለይም በዘርፉ በተለዩ የትምህርት መስኮች ላይ የውጭ ልምድ እንደሚያስፈልጋት በአጽናኦት የተናገሩ ሲሆን የዩኔስኮ-አይቢኢ የቦርድ ፕሬዝዳንቱ በበኩላቸው የትምህርት ስርዓቱን በአዲስ መልክ ለማሻሻልና ለማዘመን ሚኒስቴሩ የሚያደርጉትን ጥረት አድንቀው ቢሮው ጥረታቸውን ለመደገፍ ዝግጁ መሆኑን ገልጸዋል።

H.E. Professor Berhanu Nega, the Minister of Education of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the President of the National Commission for UNESCO discusses at a sideline meeting with the President of the International Bureau of Education (UNESCO-IBE) Board, Svein Osttveit at the UNESCO headquarters office in Paris, France.

During the conference, Professor Berhanu Nega presented the steps the Ethiopian Ministry of Education has done to improve the curriculum and reform the educational system.

H.E. the Minister emphasized that the country needs foreign experience in the fields under consideration. President Svein Osttveit, for his part commended the Ministry's dedication to restructuring the educational system and stated that the Bureau is prepared to support the Ministry in its efforts to update the curriculum and enhance the educational system.
